Contaminant analysis

Membrane contaminants

The determination of the composition and composition of membrane pollutants is very important for the cleaning and maintenance of the whole membrane system. According to the detection results of pollutants, we can take targeted cleaning agents and improve the pretreatment, so as to make the system operate stably. NYMOI has a variety of advanced analytical instruments and equipment to analyze membrane pollutants.

  • LOI  (Loss on Ignition)

When the pollutants are burned, because the water is removed and the organic matter is burned, the quality of the burned sample changes. According to the reduced amount, the contents of organic matter and microorganism in the pollutants can be obtained by comparing and calculating.

  • EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy)

The wavelength and energy level of X-ray are used to identify the percentage of chemical elements in the pollutant samples. This analysis is usually used to determine the main constituent ratio of inorganic substances in pollutants.

The following figure shows the energy spectrum analysis of a scale sample:

  • Microscopic Analysis

This analysis is very helpful to judge whether there is biological pollution in nature. Biological organisms, usually can be observed under a low-energy microscope.

  • ESEM (Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope)

This highly specialized analysis uses the reflection of electrons on the surface of pollutants to form an image, which can be displayed and observed at high magnification. It is very effective for judging the size of particles and the morphological structure of pollutants.
